this is about as "modern" as it gets, hence the title - and I have to admit, there are times, occasionally, when something slightly hip hop, actually sounds OK to my ears - especially if you have it as a sort of smooth beat beneath lovely ambient keyboards. this piece uses the same jazzy flute samples as the previous piece (I was into using leftover tracks at this point) which makes it even more interesting. I do like the sound of this, I think the "pad" sound of the one synth (which is, as almost always nowadays, the remarkable Korg iWavestation - the synth that can do almost anything) is really restful and beautiful - and that really sets the mood of the whole piece.
