this song is like a helpful instructional video for aliens just arriving on planet earth, which through the power of music, reminds them to remember to breathe – if ever a song sounded like it’s title, or, a title sounded like the song – it’s this one – the slow, halting breathy sound of massed, carefully arranged “drones” of varying tonalities, all taken from the remarkable “drone maker 1” pak – assuredly one of my very favourite paks to work from – and I raided it extensively for this piece – only adding in a couple of useful wind sounds from the genmix3 pak to avoid a monopoly on sounds from “drone maker 1”.

I like the staggered rhythm of the piece, how it flows in a short wave followed by a short silence – which isn't always silence – sometimes, one of those windverbs will whip up a tiny wind frenzy where one of those silences is supposed to be…but either way, the lovely on again off again rhythm is strangely soothing, and the occasional sound of the wind is relaxing and lovely – mixtikl wins again, and this is proof positive that a foray into the “drone maker 1” pak will always, always turn out well – you will be rewarded.

strange, mysterious ambience – but a nice kind of strange. I rather like it.
