I made the decision to see if doing an adaptation of an existing, proven piece would be a good way to create variation, so I simply “swapped out” a few of the elements for much more strident, active elements, leaving much of the structure of “pulsating” as it was, but hopefully, introducing enough change to bring us “pulsating wisdom” – and I think the addition of noize_rhythm-as, tinkling_arp-as and toy_piano_ripple-as, to the six existing drone-like voices that remain from the original “pulsating” – has done just that.

a new piece is born, it’s active, with ambient backing, not so active as to be “in your face”, but changed enough to really feel like a different song, and that was really my intention – yet, “pulsating” is still in it’s dna, and always will be.

I think that probably, you could take a copy of any existing mixtikl piece, change two or three of it’s elements, and end up with a piece mutated just enough, to feel like a brand new and unique piece of generative music. I love this one, it’s brazen, it’s wonderful, and it’s droning organ like sounds and endless chords from heaven are just lovely.

I found it so inspiring, that I decided to do yet another mutation, and create the third and final version of the piece…which is the track following this one - "pulsating wisdom - drums mix".
