about

naivasha & nakuru

track: 29

recorded: 20170425 - 20170505

duration: 4:24

type: active

bringing us up to may, 2017, "naivasha & nakuru" does not refer to two beautiful African women, but instead, to two beautiful African lakes that I was privileged to visit when I lived in East Africa - two of Kenya's finest.

the brief, sprightly tune that this experience inspired can only hint at what the experience of seeing two million lesser flamingos in one place was like for me, it does get some of that amazing joy across...

it's very, very electronica, and has a very "synthy" feel to it; so, to counteract that, I have again played "real bass" (or "real garage band bass" I should say, in "notes" mode, of course) along with the sampled synths - ALL of the synths are apple loops, as are the drums, but the bass - that's me, doing my best with the Paul McCartney bass supplied in Garage Band.

I like this tumultuous little tune, it's very quick and lively, and I hope it will leave you wanting more - and, more tracks are on the way, I promise - soon. I've created so many over the past few months, that I am actually quite behind on mixing and mastering, so please be patient waiting for track 30 - it is on the way, I promise you.

I really enjoyed creating this small track - and it packs a lot of musicality into it's four minutes and twenty four seconds - it's absolutely compact and bijou, if you know what I mean :-)
