my third long form piece, and utterly unintentionally, I would class this piece of music as being in the imaginary genre of “jazzy prog new orleans funeral procession“ although that only explains part of it, really. a crazed, high speed beginning gives way to a very slow, stately horn-driven processional, which then twists and turns at the drop of a hat, into a million different directions, with parts interposed and interlaced in increasingly complex ways...

I would find it difficult myself to draw a road map of what happensn this piece – strange bird/alarm funk bass breaks give way to the recurring funeral theme, and even a childhood song melody recurs twice near the end of the piece. the time changes are wonderful, I have no idea how I did this, but I am very, very glad that I did.
