rarely in the history of music has an instrumental piece of music "sounded like it's title" as much as this piece does. in fact, I didn't even have to work at all on the title, because as soon as I heard the piece start to play back, it was there: "this is totally hypnotic".

mesmerising, in fact - this piece is everything I expect from an ambient piece: quiet, peaceful, restful, minimal, soothing, beautiful - but in this case, it's also..."hypnotic".

I love the sound of this track, and a portion of the credit must go to mixtikl, for the meticulous, clean samples chosen, and when you find a beauty like this one - well, beautiful ambient music will ensue.

like all the very best pieces of music, "hypnotic" arrived quickly, quietly and immediately proceeded to floor me with it's elegant simplicity - I realised (once again, as I have about eight times in the last seven weeks) that I had once again raised the bar, or rather, mixtikl had raised the bar, and that another astonishing piece of ambient had suddenly arrived.

over and over again during this burst of creativity that is really the only fair way to describe my work on the "music for apps: mixtikl" eternal album (which, unbelievably, now boasts an incredible 17.4 hours of music - 43 songs, over 17 hours of music - most of it, ambient music - now - that's an album.

and really, I am only just getting started - I am going to try to take a small break from mixtikl, but I think I will find that impossible, because creating with it is just so much fun - although I really do want to create and add in some of my own guitar samples, so I can create mixtikl pieces that use dave stafford energy bows, guitars, guitar synths, mellotrons and synthesizers. that day will come - but until then, we have the exquisite, the improbably beautiful, "hypnotic" to tide us over. long may it flow.

I have no words for how lovely this piece of generative ambient mixtikl music is, except to say: "listen - please".
