concerto no. 2 in a minor for guitar and oboe - movement no. 3

finally, after far too long of an interval, the third and final movement of my "concerto no. 2 in a minor for guitar and oboe" is complete, and I'm happy to say that it's brought the entire piece to a most satisfactory close - I am very pleased with the result.
in the end, the third movement became the longest to write, the longest to score, the longest to work out - far exceeding the first two movements in duration - in fact, it's actually longer than the two of them combined - but this brings the entire concerto to just under twenty minutes, which is a good place to be.
this has been such an incredibly positive experience, and as I continue to work on my classical repertoire, I hope I will just get better and better at it - I am learning, all the time, and I feel that this hard-won third movement is possibly my best-yet piece of classical music, it ticks a lot of boxes for me personally, in particular, the returning themes; the interplay between classical guitar and oboe - and that lonely, plaintive oboe itself, the sound of hope and yearning tinged with sadness...what a beautiful instrument.
I really do enjoy classical music where the oboe is featured, it's not really a standard thing, it appeared rather late in the day, this idea that the oboe could play one of the solo parts in a concerto, but I for one, think it's a great idea!
I will probably move to another pairing for my next classical piece, but that remains unknown, for now, I am very happy to be presenting at last, the final piece of the puzzle of my second concerto, "concerto no. 2 in a minor for guitar and oboe". I hope you enjoy listening to it half as much as I enjoyed scoring and recording it.
