the final version of “almost waking” uses exactly the same elements, but I’ve made some changes to the mix, some changes to the effects, just generally cleaning up the original based on a better understanding of the app gained over time.

the resulting ambient piece, is very similar in nature to the prototype, and from this distance, I can’t personally say that one is better than the other or that I really prefer this one over the prototype – to me, they both sound good.

obviously, I felt a bit uncertain with the prototype; so I did go back and do this final and “proper” mix, but I don’t know now if it was really necessary, because on a pure scale of just listening, I think both pieces are very ambient, both are quite beautiful, and I enjoy listening to them both equally – so I’d say I won twice, if anything.
