this is one of my very, very favourite (and it was a lot of fun to create) nanostudio tracks – and it was built in a pretty standard way – first, the drum track – which I spent quite some time perfecting, I wanted it to be really interesting, and have some variety, and I think I succeeded with it – it’s one of my better efforts when it comes to drum programming. the high quality sounds available in the TRG drum sampler didn't hurt my chances, either - a really intuitive set of drum pads, with great sound quality - which is what you want - easy to use, and sounds really good.

then came a long, long period of overdubbing – setting up many, many eden synths, with many different sounds, and I just started experimenting – first, I would play solos in various places, and then come back later and tidy them up with the editor, removing some, keeping the best ones…or the best parts of solos...

more time would pass, I’d come back in, and maybe record some more atmospheric synths, like the beautiful pulsating synth in the centre of the piece, which is bookended by earlier “solos” – I worked on this piece for probably a month or so, leaving it, coming back to it, making little additions here and there – until one day I realised, after adding some thunderous bass parts in the latter half – that it was done.

a careful final mix – and I love the almost ambient outro – beautiful!

one of my proudest early achievements on the ipad, and in nanostudio – a really successful session resulting in a cracking piece of progressive rock – I rather like it.
