hello and welcome to “music for pcs: u-he" - which features some of the most remarkable software synthesizers in the world, from one of the most remarkable companies in the world: u-he.

diva, bazille, ace, zebra and many more softsynths, bearing strange exotic names - these have been on the pureambient want list for a while now, and we have finally downloaded one of the u-he products to get started with, while others will be downloaded over time.

what is the appeal of u-he? the company is renowned for their amazing emulations of analogue synthesizers, but equally, for their emulation of modular synthesizers, but those are just two areas where they excel, out of many, many excellent software synthesizer products.

over time, we plan on acquiring more soft synths from u-he, so I just thought it would make more sense to have an eternal album featuring any and all synths or plug-ins that u-he makes, so over time, you will hopefully get to hear most of them here.

beautiful, lush, complex - some of the most incredibly rich sounds I've ever heard, a sonic revelation, and as time goes on, hardware synthesizers are hard-put to compete with these amazing software emulations - sure, native instruments has some of the best, but u-he pays just as much attention to detail if not more.

the best thing of all is probably the amazing range that these instruments cover, anything from super ambient to the most in-your-face lead synth sound you ever heard - so a wide range of song types will certainly be possible, with these particular instruments.

of course, ambient will be foremost on my mind, and some of the huge range of stock presets are absolutely astonishing, incredibly complex and wonderful waveforms with a musical range you cannot imagine until you hear a few hundred or so of the presets...

the analogue and modular synths give you great scope to create your own sounds, and given what's of offer just from the factory, I can't wait to see the creative possibilities that diva, bazille and all of the others will bring to my own ambient songs.

I can't wait to get started.
