dave's first release of two for 1998, featuring a set of "solo circulations" made with a long delay / looping system.

the circulation is a delicate musical form, intended originally for larger groups of guitarists. finding myself geographically isolated from any community of like-minded musicians. I set out to see if the circulation form could be adapted to a solo format. the first examples of the solo circulation were included on the acoustic guitar album "1867" early in 1997.

with the passage of time and the adaptation to the rather unique concept of passing a note from myself to myself around an imaginary circle of guitarists. the music on this disc presented itself to me, on three occasions during november, 1998, quite suddenly, and with almost all warning, these fragile pieces of music appeared as if from nowhere. no one was more surprised than myself.



the phonographic copyright in these performances / compositions is operated by studio seventeen productions / pureambient on behalf of the artist, with whom it resides. studio seventeen productions / pureambient accepts no reason for artists to give away such copyright interests in their work by virtue of a "common practice" which is out of tune with the times, was always questionable and is now indefensible.
