listening to the playback of “pulsating wisdom”, I could hear it as a background to an active bill nelson-like track, it reminded me, by accident, of some of the backings that bill created for his “the love that whirls” album, I could hear it in my head (perhaps it's the track "he and sleep were brothers" that it reminds me of) – so, I sifted through some of the available drum beats, and found this lovely, very bill nelson-esque drum part, at a gentle 80 bpm, and I plugged it in at the bottom of the nine existing elements of “pulsating wisdom” to create “pulsating wisdom - drums mix”.
now that this has been created, the next logical step is to lift the entire piece into a multitrack session, and overdub ebow lead solos – and I plan to carry out that plan as soon as my schedule allows, as I think this backing would be wonderful for a layering of energy bows – the perfect nelsonesque backing track.
the other option, of course, would be to play to it live – set it going, and play live ebow on top of it, and film the performance as it happens. either way (or both ways!), I love the way this track turned out, I love all three versions, but this one surprises me the most – because it takes it from the very ambient (as in, “pulsating”) all the way to an exciting, exotic lively piece, with a great beat and a wonderful, semi-ambient background – a fabulous creation, I would say. I am very happy with all three of these tracks.
